Ramapo Police Have Busy Overnight Shift

RAMAPO, N.Y. – Ramapo police had a busy overnight shift this morning from midnight to 8 a.m. Saturday, including two overturned cars and a DWI charge.

A driver on Kennedy Drive in Spring Valley near Old Nyack Turnpike was stopped by officers and found to be over twice the legal limit, and charged with driving while intoxicated.

About 4 a.m., police responded to an overturned car on Route 306 near Route 202. The car took out a telephone pole and brought down power lines, closing the road. The driver was found later Saturday morning.

Another call for an overturned vehicle came in about 15 minutes later on East Eckerson Road, and another accident occurred around 7 a.m. on North Pascack Road in Hillcrest. In that case, the vehicle sustained heavy front end damage.
